The InBox is essentially a log of all the mail that you have received in Snap Mail. At times it is also important to have a log of mail that you have sent to other people as well as information regarding whether or not your mail has been delivered yet. This information is available from the Mail Log which you can bring up by choosing “Mail Log...” from the main window. The Mail Log window also allows you to cancel the sending of mail that has not yet been delivered or unpost alerts that you no longer want to be active.
From the Mail Log window, you can choose either “Pending Mail” or “Delivered Mail” by choosing from the pop-up menu at the top.
• Pending Mail
If “Pending Mail” is selected, you will see a list of mail items that you have sent which are still waiting to be delivered as well as any alerts that you have sent which are still active. Usually these pending pieces of mail have not been delivered yet because the destination computer is not available. It may also be the case that these mail items are on their way out but have not completed sending yet.
If you have sent an enclosure and it appears in your pending list, you will see that the amount of memory still needing to be sent is listed before the subject heading.
To remove a piece of mail from your pending list, simply select the mail item and then click on the “Remove” button. This piece of mail will no longer be sent.
Mail items will be removed from your pending mail list and put on your delivered mail list as soon as they are received by the destination computer. Alerts, however, are taken off your pending mail list only when you explicitly remove them, or when the auto-unsend time for the alert has passed. When you remove an alert from the Pending Mail list, the alert will be removed from all computers on which it appeared. Though mail that has been been placed in the recipient’s InBox can no longer be unsent, you can remove an alert from the recipient’s InBox,
You may double click on any piece of mail in the pending list to see the full text of the message you have sent. You may also copy this text if you would like to paste it somewhere else.
• Delivered Mail
If you choose “Delivered Mail” from the pop-up at the top, you will see a summary listing of all the mail that you have sent. This allows you to go back to verify whether or not you have sent a particular piece of mail. The delivered mail log only keeps the last one hundred mail items that you have sent.
You may double-click on a delivered mail item to see exactly what time your mail was delivered as well as the first line of the mail text.
To remove an item from your delivered mail list, select the desired item and click on the “Delete” button.
